1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of SagaCrest, including the SagaCrest website, author application, cloud workspaces, Atlas, Story Signals, backup and recovery features, offline editing features, and related services.
By creating or using a SagaCrest account after these Terms are presented for acceptance, you agree to the exact version identified in the acceptance request. If you do not agree, you must not continue into account features that require acceptance.
SagaCrest may publish updated Terms from time to time. Material changes may require a new affirmative acceptance before continued account use. The separate SagaCrest Privacy Notice explains how personal information is handled.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create or use a SagaCrest account. SagaCrest is not intended for children under 16.
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account except where applicable law provides otherwise.
You may not create an account for another person without authorization or use another person's account without permission.
3. The SagaCrest service
SagaCrest is a writing, story-development, and worldbuilding platform for authors. It may include manuscripts, books, chapters, scenes, characters, places, worldbuilding records, relationships, Atlas maps and geography, story paths, trials, analysis tools, backups, exports, offline editing packages, and related authoring features.
When you are online, SagaCrest's cloud workspace is the authoritative version of hosted workspace data. Local device storage may be used for performance, caching, recovery drafts, supported offline editing, and other product functions. A local copy is not necessarily the current canonical workspace unless SagaCrest expressly identifies it as such.
Features may be added, changed, improved, limited, or discontinued as the service evolves. SagaCrest will use reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary disruption to active user work.
4. Your content and creative control
You retain ownership of the manuscripts, writing, characters, worldbuilding, images, maps, notes, and other original content that you create or lawfully provide to SagaCrest. SagaCrest does not acquire ownership of your creative work merely because you store or process it through the service.
You grant SagaCrest a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, display, synchronize, back up, restore, analyze, and otherwise handle your content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, support, and improve the features you choose to use.
You are responsible for having the rights necessary to upload or use content that belongs to someone else. You should maintain independent exports or backups appropriate to the importance of your work.
Any permission granted to SagaCrest to process your content ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to backup cycles, security records, legal obligations, and other lawful retention described in the Privacy Notice.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use SagaCrest to violate applicable law or another person's rights.
- Do not access or attempt to access another user's account, workspace, files, private data, or restricted platform systems without authorization.
- Do not bypass, probe, defeat, or interfere with authentication, authorization, rate limits, security controls, or technical protections.
- Do not distribute malware, malicious code, abusive automation, or material intended to compromise SagaCrest or its users.
- Do not intentionally overload, disrupt, damage, or materially interfere with the service or infrastructure.
- Do not use SagaCrest intellectual property in a manner that exceeds the rights granted by these Terms, except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise.
6. Cloud data, offline editing, recovery, backups, and exports
SagaCrest is designed around an authoritative cloud workspace when the service is online. Local caches and local device storage may improve performance and resilience but are not a substitute for the current cloud state unless the product expressly identifies a supported offline editing mode.
If SagaCrest provides explicit offline editing, the product may require a verified offline package and may restrict simultaneous writable offline sessions in order to protect workspace integrity.
If connectivity is lost unexpectedly outside an authorized offline editing session, SagaCrest may preserve unsaved recovery drafts locally without treating those drafts as canonical cloud changes until they are successfully saved.
SagaCrest may provide workspace export, backup, import, and recovery tools. These tools reduce risk but cannot guarantee recovery from every device failure, browser failure, user action, service outage, corrupted source file, or third-party infrastructure event. Users with important work should maintain independent exports or backups.
7. Availability, maintenance, and service changes
SagaCrest may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, infrastructure failures, security incidents, third-party service disruptions, or other operational conditions.
SagaCrest does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may temporarily limit or suspend particular functions when reasonably necessary for security, integrity, maintenance, legal compliance, or protection of user data.
If a change materially affects legal rights or obligations under these Terms, SagaCrest may publish a new policy version and require renewed acceptance.
8. SagaCrest intellectual property
SagaCrest, including its software, interface, design, branding, documentation, service materials, and other operator-owned content, is owned by Yeshaya Blalock or applicable licensors. These Terms grant you a limited right to use the service as provided and do not transfer SagaCrest intellectual property to you.
Your ownership of your own creative content is not affected by SagaCrest's ownership of the software and platform.
9. Third-party services and AI features
SagaCrest relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate portions of the service. Their systems may process information as described in the Privacy Notice.
SagaCrest does not currently represent a third-party generative AI provider as an active processor of ordinary workspace content. If a future feature sends user content to an external AI provider, SagaCrest will identify that behavior and update applicable disclosures before or when the feature is made available.
Links or integrations with third-party services may also be governed by those providers' own terms and privacy practices.
10. Free launch and future paid services
SagaCrest is offered without a subscription charge at public launch.
SagaCrest may introduce paid plans, optional paid features, storage tiers, or other charges in the future. Any price, recurring charge, billing period, cancellation rule, or refund term will be disclosed before you authorize a purchase.
SagaCrest will not retroactively charge you for past use that was presented as free.
11. Suspension, termination, and account closure
SagaCrest may suspend or restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these Terms, unlawful activity, security risk, fraud, abuse, technical integrity risk, or a legal obligation.
Where reasonable under the circumstances, SagaCrest will seek to provide notice or an opportunity to correct a problem before permanent termination, but immediate action may be taken when necessary to protect users, data, infrastructure, or legal interests.
You may request account closure through the supported account process. Account closure and deletion may require identity verification and may be subject to recovery periods, backup rotation, fraud-prevention records, policy-acceptance records, legal holds, dispute records, and other retention permitted or required by law.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SagaCrest is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation, perfect accuracy, error-free functionality, or suitability for every purpose.
SagaCrest is an authoring and creative-work platform. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, or other regulated professional advice merely because tools may help organize, analyze, or present user-created information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SagaCrest and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, or data, arising from use of or inability to use the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the aggregate liability of SagaCrest and its operator for claims arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) or the amount you paid to SagaCrest for the service during the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply where applicable law prohibits the limitation, including rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be waived or restricted.
14. Responsibility for unlawful use
You are responsible for claims, losses, or costs caused by your unlawful use of SagaCrest, your intentional violation of another person's rights, or content you provide without the necessary rights, to the extent responsibility may lawfully be allocated to you.
This section does not create an obligation that applicable consumer law prohibits or otherwise prevents SagaCrest from imposing.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent mandatory law in your place of residence provides rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Subject to any mandatory consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes arising from these Terms or SagaCrest may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Pennsylvania.
These Terms do not require private arbitration and do not include a class-action waiver.
16. International availability
SagaCrest may be made available to users in the United States, Israel, Europe, and other locations where offering the service is lawful.
You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to your own use of the service. SagaCrest does not waive mandatory consumer or privacy protections that apply because of your location.
17. Contact and changes
SagaCrest is currently operated by Yeshaya Blalock in Pennsylvania, United States. The operator identity may be updated if SagaCrest is transferred to or operated through a legal business entity.

SagaCrest identifies policy changes with a version and last-updated date. A materially changed Terms version may require renewed acceptance before continued account use.
